Speciality Nanguo Pear wine

Your new favourite dining companion

From Orchard Queen to Nanguo glass, every sip tells our story

Nicknamed "Queen of Pears", the Nanguo Li (pronounced "nangwa lee") pear is a rare variety fruit native only to Northeastern China, specifically Liaoning Province. These small fruits are one of the top varieties of pears cultivated in China and are highly favoured for their flavour.

The Perfect Table Companion: The Joys of Nanguo Pear Wine

When we think of dinner wines, grapes usually take centre stage. But there is a hidden gem that brings its own graceful charm to any meal: sweet Nanguo Li wine. Crafted from sun-ripened, juicy nanguo pears - the finest Queen of Pears - this is a drink made to be shared, savoured, and celebrated at the table.

Queen of Pears Nanguo Pear Wine, the perfect balance of orchard sweetness and fine craft: your new favourite companion for every meal.

Precious, pure, pear-perfected

Nanguo Li pears flourish in the mountains of Haicheng and growers claim that the mother tree is still alive. The tree is believed to be over 130 years old and only bears fruits on one side of the trunk. The trees blossom for one week only in late spring.

The regal pear at the heart of wine-making

Unlike bold reds or sharp whites that can divide palates, Nanguo Li pear wine strikes a warm, welcoming balance. It carries the fresh, delicate sweetness of ripe fruit - soft, honeyed, and never cloying - with a light, crisp finish that leaves your palate refreshed.

Aroma of a fruit reflects the quality of its flavour. Nanguo pears effuse an attractive, fruity aroma during ripening. The demand for high-quality wine is increasing as living standards improve and aroma is one of the main criteria for consumer preferences.

Nanguo pear wine feels like sunshine in a glass: approachable for guests who prefer something milder, yet complex enough to delight seasoned wine lovers.

Versatile at every course of every meal

This is where Nanguo pear wine truly shines: it works beautifully from the first bite to the last.

With starters: Nanguo pear wine cuts through rich pâtés, balances salty cheeses like brie or blue, and complements light salads perfectly.

With mains: Nanguo pear wine pairs wonderfully with roast pork, chicken, glazed ham, or nutty vegetarian dishes - its sweetness harmonising with savoury and spiced flavours without overpowering them.

With dessert: Nanguo pear wine is a match made in heaven for fruit tarts, crumbles, soft cheeses, or simply enjoyed on its own to round off the evening.

Pure, honest craft made to share

A fine Nanguo Li wine tells the story of its fruit. Made from carefully hand-harvested pears, it retains that distinct, aromatic essence - subtle floral notes, a hint of orchard freshness, and that signature smooth sweetness you only get from fruit grown with care. It feels wholesome, natural, and utterly comforting.

Nanguo li pears grown in Haicheng have a distinct flavour due to the region's unique cultivation traits. The soil in the mountains of Haicheng is filled with iron; contributing to the fruit’s rich, fermented flavour. Additionally, the mountains of Haicheng have a balanced climate that encourages optimum flavour year after year.
